Oh my aching back!

We've been going back and forth and round and round about what to do about our sailboat. We have a 32' Endeavour sloop that we absolutely love. However, we're both getting a little tired of living aboard. We threw around a few ideas ranging from staying on the boat to moving into a real apartment in town. The bottom line is, we can't afford to rent a boat slip for the sailboat, pay the rent for our canvas shop, and pay for an apartment too. So here's what we decided to do. We cleaned out the back room of our shop, patched the holes in the walls, gave it a fresh coat of paint and moved in. We hooked up an old sink, dragged in refrigerator, threw a full sheet of foam on the floor and are calling it home for now. We have a couple of chairs and a folding table to eat at and watch T.V. from. We still get only one channel, NBC. We don't have a toilet so we are still having to go downstairs whenever nature calls. We both agree that it's okay for now and kind of fun. Sort of like camping in. My back has been killing me since we made the move (all in one day). Should have had more help with that fridge I guess. I had a back operation about twenty years ago. I'm hoping that ample portions of Motrin and rum will eventually take care of things! The real kicker is that our landlord doesn't know we're living in the back room of our shop yet. Not because we're trying to hide from him, but because we haven't seen him since we decided to move. We're hoping he's okay with the idea. Time will tell! I sure hope we don't end up moving that damned refrigerator again!

Hello Russell and Joanne! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Sounds like a fun time camping in! Yes living aboard does get old after a while. 1/2 house and 1/2 boat is the best way to go! 3 years was our last live-aboard time and with kids it was interesting. The hardest part was that my fridge only held 1 gallon of milk!

We might be getting a mast soon...FINALLY! Danny is still driving supply ships so maybe between hitches we can take a trip to the boat and DE-MOLD her.

Have you been out to meetthepflockers.com yet? I'll send you another invite! It's really cool.

Have a great day and I hope you feel beter.
